A Topic discussed may be a company proposal not a Union Proposal. All proposals if brought to the table must be discussed, but don't have to be agreed on.

ReplyDeleteDiscuss real issues such as some kind of sick time even if unpaid without punishment, forced labor, job duties....there isn't enough manpower to have job duties exclusively!

ReplyDeleteWe should do without a leadperson. Not only do I see them laughing it up and drinking coffee most of the day in management office;or complain and "cry" to management they don't want to run the printer. They work less but get paid more than the rest of us. It is obvious that this position is dividing us apart. As a strong union supporter we need to be united and strong(POWER IN NUMBERS). What the company is doing is "divide and conquer". I believe that the Management had the Leadpeople fill out 2 or more of the Contract Proposal Sheets in order to sidetrack the real local issues. Why do I hear them pushing for WiFi......WiFi, are you kidding me. NEWSFLASH!!We already have WiFi. How do you think the Supervisors communicate? They are petty and want to feel powerful by not giving out password. More importantly leave vacation pick alone, remember you will be the senior person in future. Don't mess with work rotation. We need more personal/sick days.

ReplyDeleteLol. Conspiracy..managers had the leads fill out contract proposals to sway the negotiations. Come on. Is this person serious. Leads are our union bothers if you haven't forgot. Stop with the hate and jealousy and at least give it a chance.

ReplyDeleteOne of the main day to day problems with this place is too many men worrying about other men. It's not leads emulating management it's tools like this.
Maybe enforce a point system or sick days
ReplyDeleteConcentrate on helping everyone in the plant ! Don't choose a selected department of employees to compensate for the terrible hours and aggravation we tolerate . Everyone employed at Wallkill deserve a reasonable contract . If you plan on taking care of a select few or some of you feather your own nest , don't bother coming back . Stay there until you get it right for everyone . I'm not a senior employee ,and I agree some employees may know a little more than others , but to ignore the fact that we all work hard is wrong and very did-heartening . What I do know is , we are a union body and should be treated that way .
ReplyDeleteAlls I hear is " WE ARE A UNION ! " Prove it ... I have children and need medical ( Good Medical ) . Without a reasonable package this time , more people like me will be interviewing for casino jobs just like many here already. Its not worth doing these hours without good medical , everyone knows long hours and nights shifts get you sick and shortens your life expectancy . AT LEAST Give us medical to get better . I don't care what everyone else has .
Don't come back without our medical !!!!! They make Billions and screw the workers that made them Rich . The shifts and Hours screw our bodies up , keep the Medical so we can keep going . You Guys lay down this time , Many more will be leaving that building for different jobs . Lets see management run all the machines like we do . This young work force has more nerve than you think . The fat cats need to start sharing a little . We are not asking for the world , JUST ASKING FOR FAIRNESS !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am being considered a newer/younger employee that needs a job to raise my family . But , what i have noticed is , the quality of life has diminished during the past two years .I may not say much , but i believe my opinion is important too . The management ( especially ) treat me like a second class citizen . He thinks he's the Boss so he can abuse us as hourlies . Its very degrading . The Negotiation committee has a lot of important decisions to make right now . Our Money , our Medical and Quality of life in the plant is critical . The company gets bigger and richer , while we struggle harder than ever and forced to tolerate internal abuse . Please do the best you can do as a team , the entire plant is depending on you to bring home a package that helps us all . I thank you for what your doing but if you cant make positive decisions for all of us , step away . Although I'm considered a new person , I'm willing to fight for what we need here . Another three or five years of these conditions will just cause more of us to leave the company . There are better jobs out there , you just have to find them . Wallkill's management team has generated hatred and self confidence issues in our plant . If this plant wants to turn around , corporate needs to wake up and provide a new team of leaders or Wallkill can plant is done . WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH !
ReplyDeleteI hope things are going in a positive direction . all of you were voted in because the union members of this plant feel you have the stamina to stand up to the bullies of wallkill . Alls we can ask is , GIVE it all you got . For us that have intelligent's , know its not easy . Keep it going until you bring home an acceptable package . Don't give up , the hourlies of our plant is depending on you . Show Union Pride / Not weakness . The bullies prey on the weak , don't forget that !
