ReplyDeleteVOTE BONANO
ReplyDeleteI would like to be the first to say "good luck" to my fellow candidates running for Vice-Chair and to the E-board candidates for Unit 43.
ReplyDeleteDear Brothers and Sisters,
ReplyDeleteLast Night we had our nominations in Unit 43. At the conclusion of that meeting it was decided that this blog will not be used for negative campaigning. As long as the posting is positive and does not knock another union member it will be posted.
I am looking at the list of fine candidates and one thing pops out at me, is that out of 13 positions there are only two people that are from the outside plant. I am not saying the other 11 will not do the job I am sure they would do a great job but i would like to see some com techs in place.
ReplyDeleteJoin Me and Make one of your four selections in the Executive Committee race
CHAD MORRIS
Good Luck to all candidates. I would like to share my choices. These choices are based on what I feel we need to get us through a very tough contract coming up. I will say that I firmly believe the last contract was a decent one for the times until Maggie and company gave themselves a raise.
ReplyDeleteI feel we need extra experience.
Jeff Wathen

ReplyDeleteSo many good candidates to pick from.
ReplyDeleteIt should be a very close race. Good luck to all.
I have two questions to ask all the candidates:]
ReplyDelete1, If you are elected as Vice Chairman will you guaratee that you will be at bargaining every session and not miss bargaining?
2. For the executive committee will you promise to hold executive committee meetings on a normal basis and will you attend all meetings?
I hope all candidates answer their respective question online at this site
I am totally commited to be at every monthly meeting that I possible can and every single bargaining session, no matter how long it takes for us to get the best possible outcome. That is a promise!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Deb Bonano" 's correct last name spelling is "Bonanno". And, Debbie would make an excellent Vice Chair. Few People know this, but Deb has been Heavily involved in a Union Environment longer than many of Us have been employed at Frontier. Deb was a Shop Steward when She worked at Lucent Downstate. She has a unique Perspective on coping in a Union Shop. The best attribute Debbie possesses is looking out for what's best for the ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP and Not looking out for a select group. Join Me in voting for Deb Bonanno for Vice Chair of Unit 43.
ReplyDeleteI am voting for Wathen and Bartle
ReplyDeleteWhere did you work for Lucent? How many years were you a union steward
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I want to wish All Candidates the best of luck in the upcoming Unit 43 elections. You all have unique contributions to offer the Membership. And, that is what this election is all about- isn't it?? Serving every single Member?? I personally have been very involved in Union Affairs beginning in 2002, attending most all Meetings, volunteering to help out for Contract Votes, Unit and Local Elections, and acting as a Steward for the last 5 Years. Last Spring, I accepted an Appointment to the Executive Committee of Unit 43 to fill the last Year of a 3 Year Term vacated by a Newly-Hired Assigner. During The last Year, I have attended EVERY UNION MEETING except for One- May 3rd, 2011 ( due to an illness that, as of this date, I continue to battle). As a matter of Fact, I have missed VERY FEW Meetings since 2002. While I cannot guarantee I'll be able to attend every single Meeting, MY HISTORY suggests that I'll attend MOST of Them. I take great pride in helping out where I can and being trusted by My fellow Members. The ONLY reason that I am running for a seat on Unit 43's Executive Committee is to help make decisions in the best interest of ALL MEMBERS of Our Unit. No matter how You all vote, JUST VOTE. And, although I would be happy to represent all of You, I would respect the voting wishes of the Membership if the New Executive Committee does NOT include Me. Thank You for Your continued Support of Our Union.
ReplyDeleteTerry Greco for Vice Chairman
ReplyDeleteFellow Brothers and sisters we are roughly 3 weeks away from our election and only two people answered my questions.
ReplyDeleteRemember them.
Well said Terry! Congatulations and Good Luck to all Candidates running for elections. Ultimately our Membership will choose a leadership team to represent them, a group of talented and competent individuals no matter who is elected.
ReplyDeletePrior to my 11 yrs this June I was employed with Lucent/Avaya Technologies for 13yrs.I was actively involved as a Steward in Local 827/IBEW in Parsippany & Local 1105/CWA in Melville, N Y during my time with Lucent. My actions as a Steward have always been genuine & sincere & never for personal gain or recognition, as I was taught. Addressing everyday issues & concerns is a priority for me. After all a Contract is only as good as the people who stand behind it and are willing to enforce it.
As for negotiations in 2012 there is every indication it will be challenging to put it mildly. I would be honored to actively participate if elected and believe my more than 10 yrs experience as a Steward would be beneficial to our team.
To all candidates in the upcoming Unit 43 elections the best of luck to you all.
ReplyDeleteResponse to a concerned member: If elected as Vice Chair of Unit 43 I do guarantee that I will be at bargaining every session and not miss bargaining.
ReplyDeleteI am asking all my brothers and sisters today to join me and elect individuals that will help secure our future and benefits.
ReplyDeleteON JUNE 7TH VOTE:
Gumble
Carnachan
Faucett
Morris
Reynolds
A question from above was if elected will you be at bargaining....
ReplyDeleteTwo Candidates answered the question I definately will be there and one candidate stated i would actively participate.
What does actively participate mean ?
Do we have a committment that you will be at all sessions?
The main reason for this question is the members need to know the person they elect will be at the table,
Can all candidates spend a week away from home at a time?
Dear Concerned Member
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I will be at Negotiations for all Sessions until we reach an agreement...
If we want to stop all the non sense in the building.
ReplyDeleteThen
Vote Jeff Wathen & Cindy Gumble
A Team that will be INVINCIBLE
Vote Your Future
Vote For Now
Vote For Job security
REMEMBER THE ONLY TEAM WATHEN & GUMBLE
I have a great idea !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWould Deb, CJ and Cindy agree to a debate ????
That way we can ask ten questions and each candidate must answer the question and we post the answers here.
What do you think ?????
Here's my vote. I have a vote of no confidence that the current GM cannot do her job in Central NY. There was enough coverage under the last two GMs. Including retired Keith Jensen. Now there isn't. This effects our customers in commitments and appointments. We can not do this job short handed. I can give my union bros and sisters clear examples on how she has messed up the working environment but I don't want to appear to be a whiner. Ask for more the information and I'll give it.
ReplyDeleteOH BABY
ReplyDeleteCindy comes back this week !!!
We probally hear from her and get great advice
I have two questions for the Vice Chair candidates(Bonnano, Gumble and Lowe).
ReplyDelete1. What are your top three issues you feel need to be addressed at the table?
2. What is your greatest asset that you will bring to the members if elected?
1.) The top 3 issues should not be mine, they should be what the majority of the union members feel are the top 3 issues.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I feel that job security is important.
Benefits are important. I don't think that we should have to pay a larger share of our premiums until the Frontier 13 union members catch up to us.
Also, I don't want to see the Company take away the 401K match again. That is very important to most of our members now. Important for their future.
2.) I feel that my greatest asset is experience. I will have 34 years with the Company & as a Union member, as of August 2011.
I have been an assignor, repair rep., dispatcher, tester, & I spent 9 yrs. in the field as a CO tech.
I have been @ the bargaining table twice before.
There have been comments posted where members say we need experience at the table as this coming contract is going to be tough one and we need experience. Every contract is important and a tough one. It doesn't take just the 2 members from Unit 43 it is a combined committee of all 3 units. 6 members elected by their units to represent the union members at the bargaining table. Our last bargaining committee made several postive changes. I feel we should keep the same team this time...JEFF WATHEN AND CJ LOWE
