WOW!! 15, 000 Hits!! I Ain't Gonna Work On Maggies Farm No More!

Time to take a stand Brothers and Sisters!

We were there for the company - giving them their furlough when they said they "needed" it.

They spit in our faces, took our money and gave it to other employees for being LOYAL!

It's their turn to make that up to US now!

That was deceptive and cruel to do to your loyal New York employees!

I ain't gonna work ( for nothing ) on Maggies farm no more!

  1. That's right! The furlough was an absolute slap in all of our faces. If we bring that story out it will be very damning to their corporate reputation - of course they will have no one to blame but themselves. Most people normally don't get involved in these things but if this comes to a head and we bring this story out they will lose much more than us.

Let's cut the bullshit and negotiate in good faith.

  2. Not only was it a slap to us! It was a slap to our families. The stress and the tears all for nothing when WV got our damn money!!! No offense but NY has been around for a long time!!! You don't get MUCH more loyal then NY!!!!!!!! Give us our money back and then maybe ill start "promoting company products"!!!! In fact we should be getting our services for free!!!! Verizon employees do!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. The bottom line is that the Company exploited the Compassion and Loyalty of NY Employees by threatening 62 Job Cuts in Local 363 alone. They knew how close-knit NY Employees are & "banked" on Us "doing the right thing". It's funny, before the furlough vote, Many of the more Senior Members said that the Company would not be able to function with 62 less Employees in Local 363. The more "Junior" Members didn't believe that. Then, after the Furlough Vote, EVERYONE agreed that the Company never intended on cutting 62 jobs. LESSON LEARNED, LISTEN TO THE SENIOR MEMBERS, THE VOICE OF EXPERIENCE. Now, for all of You that are drinking the Company's Kool Aid, remember the Furlough experience. And, Remember that "those that don't learn from Their Experiences are doomed to repeat past mistakes".

  4. THE WORLD IS WATCHING!

The ENFORCER has begun making all the right contacts! WOW, WHAT AN AUDIENCE WE HAVE!!!!!

What does it say about a company when their employees have cancelled their service even though they qualify for a concession discount? Or even choose a different company to provide their phone, cable, and DSL service?

What does it say about the quality of service the company is offerring, the systems they are using, the billing mess they have?

What does it say about the people who care about working for a good company but feel the company has let them down, embarrassed them, pushed them to the point of no return with their mistreatment?

We are Frontier and we are part of our community!

Our customers are our family, friends, neighbors, and co-worker's of our spouses'.

What do you think Frontier customers really think of Frontier?

Do you really think they do not know what has been done to us?

They do and they are disgusted along with the rest of us that live it everyday.

PLEASE STOP FIGHTING AGAINST US AND ADMIT YOU HAVE DONE US WRONG AND PROVE TO US THAT YOU DO REALLY TRULY APPRECIATE US!

    WE DESERVE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNITED WE STAND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!

    DON'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID!

Wow, now I'm really after reading what Oregon-Washington employees recieved with their contract... NO medical increase, a raise & they still have retirement medical benefits.. Read below:

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers members ratified a three-year contract covering 1,800 Oregon and Washington employees of Frontier Communications Corporation. Members will receive annual hourly wage increases of 2.75% and Frontier will continue to pay health care premiums with no required employee contribution throughout the terms. Also, Frontier will pay $345 per year of service for new hires’ retiree health care to a maximum of $10,500 for retirees with 30 years of service. However, existing employees with 30 years of service at retirement will receive 90% of retiree health care costs.

  12. FYI Brothers and Sisters. This Post is a follow-up to My post of Oct 20th at 8:22am under the "We won't back down" Section of the Blog. I received a very pleasant E-Mail from Bill Kelly, President of WVIA TV in Pittstown PA. Mr. Kelly was responding to My VERY DETAILED E-mail sent recently. Mr Kelly said that He's sorry for all of the Distress We're going through Now and that "I'll be sure to share Your comments with the People Who conducted the Interview with Ms Wilderotter". This Blog is proving to be VERY EFFECTIVE in Telling Our Story- one that's been kept under wraps for too long. It's about time the Working Middle Class Worker speaks up!! MEANINGFUL CHANGE never happens by being quiet. Do You want Proof?? Take a look at what the Oregon/Washington Local has- that We no longer have. There's a Post under "We won't back down" with a Website. Check It Out. That's what is possible WHEN EVERYONE STICKS TOGETHER and does NOT listen to the Company's Propaganda (The Kool-Aid). Lastly, Your Supervisor IS NOT YOUR FRIEND during the Workday. For those Who think otherwise are sadly mistaken.

  16. STIKE< STIKE< STIKE......I have no issues with striking thanks to Bobby C. I attended a union meeting about a year ago that upper management was invitied to. Where Bobby C told us that we (WAH) are glorified reps and would not see a pay raise.

This was something that we decided to do as a group. We thought that this would help get our questions and concerns across to management on our time. However, I feel that it turned out be to just another way the company to show us that they do NOT respect us, at all.

WE WILL NOT DRINK THE KOOL AID!!!

  18. So our contract expires at 11:59pm tonight? Ok well as of 12:00 then I am not giving one ounce more than I have to for this company. I will work my scheduled tour and not 1 minute more. I will give 100% to my customers and not a tiny bit more. I will not go above and beyond to help a company that seeks only to take all they can get from me and my brothers and sisters. The gloves are off!

  20. If you're still on the fence on whether techs should be sales reps in unit 43, try this at home: Find Frontier. You won't find 'em in the newspaper, TV,or radio. All locally traded stocks are listed on the local news and news papers. Not Frotier. There's hardly any marketing for new promos. I get an email on promos but no support for me to the public. Ok one flier in the paper. But thats it. The catch phrase "did you know" doesn't work. 95% +/- 3% The potential csr says "no, I don't know." Not even an experienced salesperson can close a deal when the csr doesn't know about the product or company. Don't drink the KOOL AID when mngmt says "we are going to market the product. Advertise the promos yada yada yada." Its all crap. I have yet to see a commercial shared w/ Dish. It won't happen. The mailers do work. But again nothing to support them. They do things the cheapest way out and expect results. Try getting a Verizon NY phone book. Frontier is not in it. Many other telcos are in the White, as well as Yellow pages. Including Time Warner. There's no way a tech could be a salesrep. A successful one that meets the quotas. As of now they have techs going door to door. BUT WITH JOBS IN PENDING!! Meaning those jobs, troubles or orders, will get missed. And the tech gets gigged for misses. And the csr is out of service for another day. If you don't get it. The monthly no.s come out and shows that a tech has all these misses. The tech was diverted to door to door but is still responsible for the missed commitments. What the F! Stalin couldn't do a better way of treating the employees. Dont drink the KOOL AID.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I also will not give anymore than the minimum that my job duties require me to give. Oregon and Washington employees received a good contract for performing the same job duties as we perform in NY. We deserve a fair contract as well. Also the company should take a closer look at their "front line" supervisors. Many do not have the knowledge, skills or in some cases the professionalism to be performing their job duties. An employee should not have to walk into a "non private" area on a Supervisor screaming like a tyrant at another fellow employee. This incident showed a gross lack of professionalism, integrity, and maturity!! Last I knew I was not on an elementary school playground. The workplace is not a place for temper tantrums. We are all adults and should be treated accordingly. Just an FYI Harassment is Harassment whether it happens in the workplace or on the street!!! The laws of our states and federal government apply whether one is at work or out in public. There is no excuse for the type of behavior that was witnessed!!!

It is great to see everyone coming together for the good of the Union. We all need to look at the whole picture and think about the future and when we each step up to that ballot box to cast your vote, make sure you are thinking about that.
What the company has done to us is unacceptable and we need to send a clear message that we will NOT put up with their BS any longer.

  34. rumor has it that cindy doviak acted like quite an asshole in an unprovoked outrage on one of the techs. heard it was quite the screaming match between them. she showed some real class once again... i guess if she had half a clue, a touch of class, and a lot less ignorance, that might not have happened. maybe there was a reason the company didn't want her involved with the new 911 program. the counties get enough moronic looks from the inmates, when asked a question that requires some thought. we also heard there may be legal action taken to prevent this from happening again. maybe she ought to go to "less technical" position somewhere else in the company, like buildings and grounds maintenance. no one deserves that kind of treatment from anyone, especially from a so-called "professional" person in such a position. go 363

  38. There is one BIG thing that the company is missing, that EVERY time someone, in any of our areas, dials a phone #, the FIRST three #'s that are dialed are 363.... Without this union, the "well the #'s say" people in management, would be working at some other menial job at some other pissant company, and probably not getting the ridiculously, over-inflated salaries, and/or bonuses they get for doing... well not a whole hell of a lot.. it is amazing how much extra us craft people have to figure out because some people don't want to leave the air conditioned/heated coziness of their desk.. I don't want you doing my job (I'd rather have it done right the first time) so stop asking me to do yours... You can't be a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none, and look like a techno-tard to the customers anymore. let us do our jobs and believe what we tell you. we do one job for a reason, to excell at it. You would think upper management would open their eyes and see this. Keep dumping more shit on the first-liners, they can't keep up with it. they can't find time to go out and see the craft doing what they do best, taking care if business... God forbid the company allows them a little breathing room to actually be tech. supv., and granted, some wouldn't be even if it was branded on their foreheads. Maggie needs some outside time, plowing through ditches, snowbanks, overgrown fields and the occasional leach field that is backed up, to see just what kind of "fun shit" we go through on a daily basis. dump more responsibilities on the craft, and watch this ship turn into a submarine. IT WILL HAPPEN... Remember, standing alone we may only be a small nibble, but together we will take a big bite out of the ass of the ones that have done nothing but take.. Kool-aid makes me piss alot, anyway!!!

No MORE KOOL AID!!!!! And a NO vote waiting on a poor contract!!!

  44. Sorry to hear One of Us was subjected to childish & unprofessional behavior from a Company "Mismanager". However, sadly- this is typical behavior from too many Company first-level supervisors. I also hear that there are several Sherburne "Supervisors" that do NOT know their own jobs, much less the Jobs that they OVERSUPERVISE and do NOT know how to act professionally or ethically. It's sad that, in Today's times, that a Company this size and in such a competitive environment cannot (or will not) hold their first-level "Managers" to a higher standard. This Company holds Craft to a VERY HIGH STANDARD and is quite perfectionistic about it. However, when a "Manager" steps out of line, It's completely ignored. This, Folks, is the definition of DISCRIMINATION.

  45. To my IBEW 363 Brothers and Sisters who are feeling afraid right now please know we are with you. I have been here for many years and seen many contract negotiations and I can tell you this is a difficult time for everyone right now. But we are at a crossroads where we have to decide whether to accept whatever pitiful offer the company throws at us like we are beggars or we have to stand up for what is right. Think about the furlough time we all took so that this company could continue to operate only to find out the very next day that we had been lied to. Think about money being taken out of the pockets of the WAH reps and then $5000 bonuses given to the new Verizon employees in WV. Think about all we have lost over the past few years. Its a pattern that will not change unless we stand up and fight. We cannot continue to lose money and benefits. We cannot continue to be treated the way we are. Local management may smile and buy the coffee and donuts (kool aid) but they will stab you in the back to save themselves. I have seen it done. I know right now some people are reading this and thinking "not my supervisor"..."he/she wouldn't do that" or "they are not like that". Believe me they are. Brothers and Sisters take a deep breath and hold on for the ride. Now is the time to stand together like we never have before. For those of you "on the fence" come on over to our side. We will always stand with you and management will not...no matter what they say...they will not.

  48. For now, no strike at Frontier

    By Christian Livermore
    Times Herald-Record
    Published: 2:00 AM - 10/22/10

A labor contract between Frontier Communications and employees in International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 363 was set to expire at the end of the day Thursday, but for the moment a strike seems unlikely, a spokesman for the union said.

The two sides were far apart in negotiations as of late Thursday afternoon, said John Maraia Sr., business manager for the local. The sticking points were wages, health insurance and working conditions, but Maraia would not provide specifics.

"We're apart on a lot of issues," he said. "We've made some ground on some issues, but the major issues we're still far apart on."

Union members would not vote on whether or not to strike until the union receives a final offer from Frontier, and that also seemed unlikely as of Thursday. More likely was that both sides would "stop the clock," leaving the terms of the current contract in force, and revisit the issue in a week or so, Maraia said.

Frontier spokeswoman Stephanie Schifano would not comment on the negotiations, but said plans are in place to make sure service is not affected should a strike occur.

"As always, providing quality, dependable service for our customers is going to be our top priority," she said.

Local 363 members include technicians and installation, repair and collections workers.

  60. Expanding on the Anonymous Post Oct 22nd at 6:19pm. If a Strike should be necessary, What would the ramifications be for Workers crossing the Picket line to work, while United Brothers and Sisters are Demonstrating?? I think this should be discussed at all three of the Meetings scheduled for Next Week- so that "on the Fence" Members know BEFOREHAND what's at stake, should They decide to support the Company during a Strike. And, during these Meetings, the Members should be informed as to the PURPOSE of the Vote and any future obligations that the Vote places on each member.

  63. Devoted to IBEW 363, NOT FrontierOctober 23, 2010 at 8:01 AM

Gil, Listening to Member's concerns in My Location, They are wondering Exactly what are the "Sticking Points" of Negotiations that caused the Bargaining Committee to recommend such a serious Vote next Week. Many Members are saying that They need details if They are to vote on such a serious matter, especially if the Two sides have not even discussed all Proposals. Bottom Line- Members need as much information as possible to make an INFORMED choice. Also, a Few Members are "sipping" the Company's Kool-Aid, by saying that the Oregon/Washington Local- mentioned in this Blog, is part of the Old Verizon Properties and the Company "has to honor that until Their next Contract". It seems Some Members are buying the Company's lies and Propaganda. Please also give an example of Two of recent Contract Ratifications WITHIN ORIGINAL FRONTIER/CITIZENS'S AREAS that have a better Contract than We're being offered. Use a CWA Contact as an example if necessary. Some Members believe that the Company is offering Us a Fair Contract IN IT'S CURRENT FORM. An actual Quote from a Member I talked to about the upcoming vote-- "Yeah, Yeah, I know the Company has screwed Us, I get all of that, but the National Average for raises Today is about what the Company is offering Us". This Member is Drinking Kool-Aid by the GALLON.

    ReplyDelete
  64. This is a statement directed to those that are thinking about crossing picket lines--

The way this management is- those that will hesitate to strike will be the ones that management will "reward" with one hand while holding a knife in the other behind their back. They will NOT give you ANYTHING they promise unless it's in a signed UNION contract that forces them to live with reality.

Those employees that are afraid or unwilling to strike- don't believe a word management says. They've all sold their souls to the corporate devil. Don't be the same. They live for money and have ZERO integrity. You are a DOG to them. Period. They lie with straight faces and many of us have seen it through the years.

Listen to those employees with the experience! Now is the time to turn to your union senior members and follow their lead. They've had too many years experience with a management team that has learned to lie at the knee of corporate money hungry scum just like them.

And think about this- what kind of work environment will you have after all is said and done? One slip up and you will have no union protection and I personally guarantee that management will VERY quickly forget you crossed the lines. You will be back out on the street.

Sorry- sounds harsh but it's the truth. You need to stand united with your brothers and sisters and get this management to understand that enough is enough. We literally can not give anymore.

No one should be working this hard for a company and still be behind in paying utility bills and a mortgage.

  65. For those who are thinking of crossing the picket line HOW DARE YOU!!! Do u think we all want to stike? Hell to the no!!!! However since this company has been screwing us over for years, this is the only way to take a stand! We all have families and bills we have to pay but we need to stick together as a whole! If u cross I hope they fine u and strip ur benifits. Then what? Grass isn't greener on the other side.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Can the union fine you if you work during the strike? Probably, if you do not resign from membership before going back to work. As a union member, you are bound by the union's constitution and bylaws, which in most unions provide that members who work during a lawfully-called strike can be fined. Such fines can be expensive and may be collectable in state court

  68. Yes, any scabs!!! Out of the UNION, then they work without union protection and without a contract. Then the company can do whatever they want with them!!! Raise health ins., take away holidays, no raises, terminate them without any protection, lower their pay, etc..... Be a scab and you should be out of the UNION!!! SUPPORT your brothers and sisters!!!!

  71. It is great to know that many new employees who are not qualified are eager to take their post. Gil we need to explain to all new employees the process so they can be able to make the right decision.

Also we need to explain to those that are qualified what happens when you cross the picket line.

  72. I am all for getting what we deserve. We have all worked hard an got nothing and we deserve better. We all also have to remember that when we strike the work doesn't stop. They just brIng in other people from other places that can do the work(THIS IS A VERIFIED STATEMENT). Where does striking prove then??? Does this gain us any leaverage??? I am a fairly new employee with kids and you would be talking food out of my kids mouths by telling me I have to strike. GIVES US A GUARANTEE STRIKING WILL WORK!!!!

  75. Kudos to Our Bargaining Committee for doing a very tough and stressful job FOR THE GOOD OF THE UNION. Folks, this Means for ALL OF US!! My Blood boils when I hear the words "What has the Union done for Me Lately". My response to Those folks is "what have YOU DONE FOR THE UNION LATELY. And, Contrary to common belief, Paying Union Dues is NOT ENOUGH!! If It were, We'd be 100% united. A Majority of Your Bargaining Committee, Chairs/Vice Chairs, Exec Committee Members and Stewards ALSO PAY UNION DUES. It's so disrespectful to Criticize and Yell at Your Elected Officers/Stewards when YOU'RE NOT LENDING ANY HELP, volunteering Your Time for the good of the Union, or making ANY EFFORT to be and stay Informed on Union Matters. Folks, this means ATTENDING UNION MEETINGS, at least sometimes. A lot of You "Anti-Union Folks gripe about paying Union Dues. Guess What?? Those Meetings that You "blow off" cost Money!! That's YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. These same folks that say "Oh, I don't have the time" for Union Activities suddenly find time to spend on Company Activities. Don't get Me wrong, I'm not against helping Our Employer at times. However, there needs to be a BALANCE. Worse Yet, There are those who actively speak out AGAINST THE UNION. How Selfish Is that?? Then there are those Who say "The Union has to be stronger and fight for a better contract". My response to those folks is- "The Union"is NOT just Your elected Officers and Stewards. The "Union" is EVERY ONE OF US. If some think We have a Weak Union, The Problem AND solution is what You see when You look into a Mirror. Sorry to be so harsh. Serious Matters require serious discussion.

  76. I would like to tell all the young folks that work here that years ago we hired a guy from NYTell. He worked there for a number of years and they went out on strike. He crossed the picket line and when the strike was over he was history. So we hired him and after a few tears he went into management and low and behold after a couple of years in management they gave him the boot from here. So, all you young folks remember this because they aren't your buddies on the other side and never will be.So we've got let Maggie know we are not afraid to WALK!! Maggie and Bobby c.and Celcilia are going to do their best to screw us again!! The little story I just told you about is about a SCAP,that's what he got,if everyone is wondering where that came from.A little history lesson for our young folks to ponder.

  77. Those that are on the fence let me say it again...WE ARE WITH YOU! None of us want a strike but we need to show this company we mean business. Please do this...go to your meetings this week and listen to what the committee has to say. Really listen to them. I PROMISE YOU WILL FEEL BETTER ABOUT THIS AFTERWARD. I have been through many contract negotiations and I can tell you it is still unsettling every time. But the right thing to do is to stand with your fellow brothers and sisters. Your union brothers and sisters will always stand beside you and the people in management that whisper in your ear and make you empty promises will not.

  83. To Rocky: Way to go! I couldn't have said it better myself. When some members say "what has the Union done for ME lately" really pisses me off. To those that have that mentality: If it weren't for our Union we wouldn't have the jobs we have today. Also Union protection is important so all of our Brothers & Sisters are treated fairly. Each and every one of our Brothers & Sisters make up the Union and when you have 100% participation and you stick together YOU are the mortar that holds the bricks (your Union rights & privledges) together. Without YOUR Union, this company would be paying you minimum wage, your hours would probably be cut to part time so they dont have to offer you medical insurance and you can forget about vacation time because you wouldn't have any of that either. Vacation time wouldn't matter though because you wouldn't have time to take one working 2 or 3 jobs in order to afford your mortgage, car payment, etc. So next time you dont think that the Union is doing anything for you, you better think again! YOUR Union bargaining committee is sacraficing MANY hours week after week that they could be spending with their family to fight for YOU the Union member. The least you could do is sacrafice 1 1/2 - 2 hours a month to attend a meeting and show your support to your Brothers & Sisters not too mention the committee that fights for YOU. I dont think thats asking too much!

Believe me...none of us want a strike.....but the company MUST take us seriously!!!

Please stay together....the more weathered union members need to help the members with not so many years understand....and calm down!!

The worst thing we have is the time it takes to get a contract. Time gives the company time to start rumors, rile the troops, and get people upset with each other.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Go To Your Meetings This Week And Listen To What the Bargaining Committee Has To Say. Ask your questions...they are there to answer them. For those that are new to a contract negotiation we know it is a scarey time. But do not believe what your supervisors and other company people may tell you. 94. This is a very scary time for all of us. We all have families to take care of. Just remember, our bargining committee has gotten us through a lot of contract negotiations. They will do it again for us. I believe that! We need to give them the ammunition to fight for what we deserve! Voting yes on a strike vote doesn't mean we are going to strike. Our Union is going to show them we deserve a hell of a lot more than we are getting! Anyone that sides with management. Don't you know you are worth more than what they are willing to give you! Why would you settle for the nickel & dime they want to pay you. Plus lessen your benefits....That help your family stay healthy. If they take that away, what do you have??? You have sleepless nights figuring out how you are paying your mortage & how you will afford to take your kids to the Dr. Please, please come to the meetings. Educate yourselves about management. The DEVILS they are. STAY STRONG. STAY WITH US. UNITED WE WILL NOT FAIL!!!!!

  95. I may be going senile, but I seem to remember that when we voted for the current contract because the company said it was the "final offer" (They lied), another area came up for contract shortly afterward. Stand Firm, Stand Tall, Stand Together and show the Kool-Aid vendors that we've had enough.

  96. i have to agree with possum pete. Its only a vote. There are ALOT of steps that the union has to go thru before we would be able to even strike. Believe you me! The company CANNOT function without us! So we need to stick together and stand up as one! of 95 percent of us vote YES they will bend on what we want! It would cost them TOO much money to use the "backup plan"!!! do you honestly think any of our supervisors will do our work? HELL NO. Down in middletown collections half of them don't even know the friggen system? Can u imagine them trying to take a phone call? 1/2 hr for one call lol. I understand everyone is understress and our time is our time. But a little time shared with the union WILL benifit us in the long run. I cannot afford an increase in medical and i DONT want a lump sum. That comes in our hand and out and we don't see anything cause it is taxed at over 40 percent!!!!! So please please please take time out on tues, wed, thurs whenever your meetings are to show us "your fellow 363 members" that you care. Cause if you care, then we care, then we all care and we will be united.

  97. Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The contract has been extended to 11:59pm on Friday November 5, 2010.

Everyone must me asking themselves what is going on and what is next. The company has informed us that the average per centage that union members are paying for insurance is over 20%. We need to be inline with those figures. We advised the company that no way we will pay over 20% when you have many people paying zero, plus our pay increases need to be increased also. PFP is a national item and wont go away. We advised the company that we can not accept their proposals as they are for the simple reason our members instructed us not to.

To show the company that the membership will not be playing games this time around and are serious about a fair contract, we will be taking a strike vote this week in each area.

The strike vote will be determined by the members who attend and vote. It is very important that everyone attends a meeting in your area.

Brothers and sisters, I have represented you since 1998 and have been loyal and honest to all of you. I have always given you the advice that i would want if our roles were reversed.
I ask every member come to the meeting this week and hear exactly what we have to say and to support your bargaining committee so we can support you.

    Thank you

If turn out is weak then the negotiating team will have to decide how far to take the bargaining.

  116. Fed up with FrontierOctober 28, 2010 at 8:14 AM

I have heard it so many times in the past, "Our Union is worthless" "Our Union" is us, every single union employee. Are we useless? HELL NO!! We do the best job, we are the most loyal, we care the most for our customers. Why should other employees get a decent raise and no employee contribution for medical and we get garbage? They stood together to get what they deserve. Each union employee needs to show how strong we really are. This is a tough time. We all have bills to pay and are struggling. Think of how much harder the struggle will be with another shitty contract. Do you think Maggie worris about making her mortgage payment, or wonders if she can afford to replace her car because her old one is about to die? Why should we have it so tough? We shouldn't, it should get easier. The company is financially sound and they can afford to pay of a decent salary. Enough caving to company. This vote doesn't mean we will strike? In my mind it does, and I am ready for it. Frontier has treated me like dirt for too many years and I am putting an end to it now!!!! I want a decent raise, and a decrease in medical cost, and NO PFP. If they can't give me what I want and deserve then I will strike. They can't do our jobs, they don't know how. They need to realize we are not going to fall for any of there bull*%#@ anymore and we have the support of unions across the country. We are not in this alone. Make sure you vote tonight, show Frontier how strong we really are. Remember, each and every one of us is the "Union". BE STRONG, STAND TOGETHER, DON'T DRINK THE KOOLAID!!!!!!

And, We WILL SUPPORT THEM when they go to Negotiations. Since You're a "non-union" Employee, Your views have no relevance Here. Good Luck to You. As a non-unoion Frontier employee I find the majority of this a joke. Not one mention of getting better wages, benefits, etc for employees working south of PA."

This is an IBEW 363 blog and 363 is in NY. If we get a fair contract we set the precedent and all the unions going into negotiations after us will benefit.

I don't expect you, as a non-union member, to understand the concept. We also won't discuss specifics here- those details are for Union members. Believe me the wages, health benefits, etc. are being discussed at length. They won't be discussed here.

This blog is to get the union membership thinking about the issues that this negotiation is concerned with and to unite and bring more solidarity to our local.

So if you, as a non-union member think it's a joke-that's fine. Personally I'd probably find your pay scale and health benefits a joke compared to a union members' and you know why? Because we fight for our benefits as a UNITED TEAM.

Those UNIONS south of PA. will definitely benefit from what NEW YORK IBEW LOCAL 363 is demanding of Frontier management. 363 will be at their bargaining tables just as members from CWA and other IBEW locals are at ours.

If you non-union folks would like to get in on the program I'm sure someone could arrange it. In the meantime, it's fairly obvious that what you think is a "joke" is actually turning the tide for these negotiations.

And personally I really don't give a crap what you non-union people make. If you want better- contact a UNION!

  123. Been reading the blog for awhile. I can tell by reading the posts who ARE and who ARE NOT union members. So in my opinion the posts that make no sense at all are coming from outsiders.

As a union whether we agree with our union at times or At the bargaining table remember that about Johnstown. We need to keep our departments we currently have here in hopes of growing.

So Middletown and Sherburne you have seen great strides made over the past year or so and we want the same.

In our office we have been positive and up beat. I thank my co-workers for that!

  124. Saw the Who's, "Who Are You", here on the blog. Great song but perhaps a better choice by the same group would have been, "we're Not Gonna Take It" from the album, "Tommy"

  125. Local 363 members stay strong, Fight for your pension. The only thing that 401ks ensure is that you will never be able to retire. The company is flush with cash. 186 million dollars in dividends paid out in the 3rd qtr, hundreds of millions of dollars in free cash flow. Their is no economic reason for them to freeze your pension. According to senior leadership the company is doing great. No need to pay more for health care either. Keep up the fight. Frontier workers across the country support you in your fight.

    Stay strong, stay united.

  126. Fellow Brothers and Sisters: Here is a Company-Generated Post in "Frontier Chatter"-- which is a PSC Monthly Newsletter. I thought this would be a perfect subject for Us to comment on Here, since It's a RARE INDIVIDUAL that feels comfortable giving Their TRUE OPINION about how They feel about working at Frontier, when ASKED BY A MEMBER OF MANAGEMENT (as was happening Nov 11th in the Sherburne Center.

    And I Quote, verbatim:

"Keeping & attracting more customers- sounds difficult to achieve, right? In reality it is not- it requires each of us to take ownership of the product- in the workplace we must make sure that every order is handled as if it were for a family member. Outside the workplace we must be good stewards for the company- explaining the values of our service along with out commitment to our community"

Comment away Brothers and Sisters, Keep it clean. But, otherwise, no holds barred. Let's give this Company's Management Team what they SAY THEY WANT: THE TRUTH, no sugar coating allowed. To 363's Negotiating Committee: 4:30am?? Wow, You folks have My ultimate respect and Admiration. We have Your back.

  127. Great timing on behalf of the Norwich Meeting.
    December 2, 2010 t Howard Johnson's in Norwich NY.
ONLY get 1 Day to look over the contract & vote for one of the most populated work centers.
Also did anyone bother to check the calendar of events in Norwich..SAME night as the tree lighting ceremony downtown where over 250 children will be singing in the park right next door. Sure that the families will attend along with several other city of Norwich residents...
Where do you plan to park????
POOR timing...Why not November 30th as orginally planned. Or doesn't Norwich/Sherburne count????

    POOR planning.....
