Bargaining Completed

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today the company and union reached the point where we feel the membership should now vote on the contract.  A letter will be mailed out informing everyone about the ratification meetings.

The meetings start Monday November 28th and conclude on Thursday December 1st.

We also want to inform everyone that within the next couple of days the company will be announcing surpluses in certain workgroups across the country. The company will be canvassing for volunteers to take VSP.  The company will be offering everyone in the surplus group a choice between taking VSP or getting a Pension Enhancement of 3 Years added to your years of service. They are not committing at this point that at the end of the canvass period if they do not reach the surplus number that they will not then proceed to involuntary layoffs.

Bargain Update !!

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

First we would like to thank everyone for supporting and participating in our drive to get a fair contract.

Secondly we would like to commend your Chairs, Vice Chairs and Recorders for  their commitment in the bargaining process.

As of Friday September 30th both sides have come to an understanding on about 60% of the language proposals presented from both sides.

The Day after Thanksgiving, A & L Policy, 5 Sick days and the Dress Code are  the major items that are left for language.

AS OF TODAY ONLY LANGUAGE PROPOSALS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED. WE HAVE NOT ADDRESSED ANY ECONOMIC ISSUES, WHICH INCLUDE PAY, TIERS AND INSURANCE. THESE ITEMS WILL PROBALLY BE ADDRESSED DURING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 17TH.

Please stay strong and committed to our drive for a fair contract that benefits ALL of our members.

Thank You

Solidarity We Will Accomplish Our Mission

IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ON ANYTHING; ASK A OFFICER OR STEWARD BECAUSE THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE OPINION THAT IS CORRECT !!!

Questions on Who Works Day After Thanksgiving

Q. Who works the day after thanksgiving?

A. The Company has to provide a list of the members required to work when the vacation book is first routed. No Later.  The 30% is continuously rotated year after year.

Q. What if I am on vacation or I am not regularly scheduled that day?

A. A member who is on vacation can not be asked to work that day.  Since the Day after Thanksgiving is a normal work Day.  Anyone whose tour has Friday off can not be asked.

Article 9.1.1.1 states that a minimum of 70% will be assigned off the Day after Thanksgiving.
